Don Gayton
Don Gayton is an ecologist specializing in grassland and dry forest ecosystems. He obtained his B.Sc. in Agronomy from Washington State University and an M.Sc. in Plant Ecology from the University of Saskatchewan. His writing resume includes a number of technical and popular publications. Gayton has received the Canadian Science Writers Award, and the US National Outdoor Book Award. He has been shortlisted twice for the BC Book Awards.

Marilyn Bittman
Marilyn Bittman is a freelance Managing Editor for the BC Journal of Ecosystems and Management. She is also the Managing Editor, Journals, for the Canadian Centre for Studies in Publishing Press, Simon Fraser University. She has expertise in print and online publishing, as well as advertising. Her current focus is assisting JEM authors to successfully publish their articles in JEM. She is also passionate about assisting journals to publish online within the Open Access model, helping provide free and open access to knowledge. Marilyn is a co-author of the Best Practices Guide to Scholarly Journal Publishing.
